Landscape Design & Consultation

Plants Unlimited is excited to have two landscape design professionals on staff to assist clients with their garden and landscape designs and plant selection!

We take pride in our communication. We make an effort to make your vision come to life and we believe that comes from talking with you about what you want and how you want to achieve it. One of our professionals will meet you at your property to discuss your ideas, review site conditions, and formulate a plan. We will hand-draw a plan and provide a cost estimate for the job. We enjoy walking with you through our grounds to guide you to the plants we have in mind for you.

We’re very excited for what we will create together!

  • HANNAH WARD HOWLAND

    Landscape Designer

Hannah Ward Howland is a third-generation horticulturist. She inherited her passion for plants from her father and grandfather while growing up in their family-owned nursery and garden center in western Massachusetts. Hannah attended the horticulture program at the University of Maine in Orono, graduating with a Bachelor’s degree while concentrating in landscape design.

While this is her second season with Plants Unlimited, Hannah has been designing landscapes in Maine for the last seven years. She loves putting those skills to work while guiding clients to find the right plants for their projects. “I am especially passionate about finding new and modern ways to incorporate our Maine natives into designed landscapes” (per Hannah). Hannah resides in Friendship with her husband and their dog, Lilly. She enjoys spending time out in nature; hiking and birding with her family and working in her perennial, vegetable and cutting gardens.
